Mescheriakov was born and raised in Belarus, an Eastern European country bordered by Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia and is the younger brother of Yegor Mescheriakov who starred at George Washington University from 1995-99, earning a spot on the Colonials All-Century Team. Georgetown may still be active in the 2007 recruiting as Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green explore their NBA draft status. Both have declared for the draft but have yet to retain the services of an agent, leaving them the opportunity to return to school if they choose. As of now, both are projected lottery picks.
We will continue to follw the Hoyas on the recruiting trail.
